About the Project
Lorestan University asked us to replace a patchwork of disconnected legacy systems with one integrated digital ecosystem — while keeping every existing service running during the migration.
The Challenge
The university ran separate, unconnected tools for its public website, faculty records, IT support requests, staff insurance, and email — each with its own login, its own maintenance burden, and no shared identity between them. The incumbent email platform alone cost roughly 3 billion Tomans a year to operate at 10,000-user scale.
Our Solution
We delivered five connected systems behind one single sign-on:
- Public website & CMS (Wagtail/Django, trilingual fa/en/ar) — news, announcements, and department pages
- Faculty-promotion workflow — applications, evaluator review, promotion councils, and appeals, with a full audit trail
- IT service desk — a single-window ticketing portal for students, faculty, and staff, built on our FanDesk engine
- Staff insurance microservice — an isolated FastAPI + React service with its own database, so sensitive HR data stays separate
- Self-hosted email — a 10,000-mailbox migration onto the open-source Stalwart Mail Server, with a modern JMAP webmail, SMS OTP login, and Email-to-SMS notifications
Results
- Estimated operating cost for email alone dropped from ~3 billion Tomans/year to under 200 million Tomans/year
- One national-SSO (“دولت من”) login now covers insurance, service desk, and promotion workflows
- Every promotion request, ticket, and insurance record is now digitally tracked with a full audit log — replacing in-person paperwork
Built From
This deployment runs on our FanCampus (CMS, promotion workflow), FanMail (email), and FanServe (service desk) products — all available as standalone products any organization can order.
