FanMail
A self-hosted, Persian-first enterprise email service at 10,000-user scale — a sovereign alternative to IceWarp and Exchange.
FanMail is a fully self-hosted enterprise email platform built on the open-source Stalwart Mail Server, designed to run entirely on-premises with no foreign cloud dependency. It pairs a modern, conversation-based webmail (JMAP, not legacy IMAP) with a built-in admin panel — at a fraction of the cost of commercial suites.
Proven at 10,000-user scale as a replacement for IceWarp, it targets under 200M Tomans/year of operating cost versus ~3B before. Two local-market advantages: SMS one-time-password login (and 2FA), and opt-in Email-to-SMS notifications.

Frequently asked questions
What is FanMail?
FanMail is a self-hosted enterprise email platform built on the open-source Stalwart Mail Server. It comes with a conversation-based webmail that uses JMAP, a Jalali-aware calendar, contacts, file space and a built-in admin panel.
Does our email data leave our servers?
No. FanMail is designed to run entirely on your own infrastructure with no external cloud service at runtime, so mail, attachments and accounts stay in your data center.
How many users can FanMail handle?
It runs in production at 10,000-user scale as the replacement for a commercial IceWarp installation at a university. See the Lorestan University case study linked above for that deployment.
How much does FanMail cost?
Cloud plans are $45/month for up to 100 mailboxes and $139/month for up to 1,000 mailboxes; larger setups are quoted as Enterprise. The on-premise licence is a one-time $2,900 with unlimited users and 1 year of updates and support, renewing at 20% a year.
Can staff keep using Outlook or phone mail apps?
Yes. Every plan includes webmail plus IMAP and JMAP access, along with anti-spam and DKIM, SPF and DMARC for outgoing mail.
What are SMS login and Email-to-SMS?
Users can sign in with an SMS one-time password and turn on two-factor authentication. Email-to-SMS is opt-in and forwards critical email notifications as text messages. Both are included from the 1,000-mailbox plan up.
